interested in becoming a Rotarian?
Rotary is a non-partisan, non-sectarian organization open to business and professional leaders aged 18 and up. The information below is intended to share a little about us and the privileges and commitments of Rotary membership.
What Is the Rotary Club of Windermere?
We were chartered in 1969. When you join our club, you become part of regional history and a part of a prestigious group of leaders in the Central Florida community.
Located in the heart of Windermere at Town Hall, our club boasts a membership of nearly 50 active members. It is truly a club of fellowship, community and business connections like no other.
What are the commitments of a member ?
Club members assume personal and financial obligations including paying dues and participating in club projects. The primary purpose of a Rotary Club is to provide service to the local community through donations of time, talent and treasure. In addition, members offer support to the larger international community through the Rotary Foundation.
Fellowship and Business Connections
Rotary membership has a certain prestige. You will meet many of the community‘s past, present and upcoming leaders. There will be opportunities to network, socialize and develop business relationships with other club members. However, expecting to network and solicit business from other members should not be the motivation for joining Rotary. When members focus on Rotary activities, business opportunities will often appear at the most unexpected times.
Your Attendance
Rotary International has an attendance requirement for all members. You will be expected to attend at least 50% of the weekly meetings. When you cannot attend your regular weekly meeting, you can do a make-up at any Rotary club anywhere in the world. Attending meetings in other local clubs, other states, or other countries is one of the highlights of being a Rotarian. When you walk into another club’s meeting, you will instantly be surrounded by new friends and be welcomed warmly.
In addition, participating in a club, district, or Rotary International committee meeting or club event counts as attendance credit. You can even do an online makeup at http://rotaryeclubone.org.

How to become a member
To become a member, you must be sponsored by a current Rotarian. We seek members in diverse areas of endeavor. Your area of vocation will be of great interest to the club, and your expertise will be consulted. The goal of the club is to promote service to the community we work in, as well as to the wider world. Every Rotarian’s participation is important and necessary to the success of the club.
